Sunday, September 24, will be Rev. Michael Piazza’s last Sunday as our senior pastor as he begins his call as executive minister of Middle Collegiate Church in New York City on October 1. Following worship on the 24th, at which Rev. Piazza will preach, we will gather in the fellowship hall for a potluck lunch and a time of fellowship to say goodbye. Please bring a side dish, salad, bread, and/or dessert to serve at least eight people to the fellowship hall before the service that day. (Entrees will be provided.)

Share A Memory With Us
To celebrate Michael’s time at the Virginia Highland Church, we’re collecting personal stories, memories, anecdotes and pictures from the congregation. This does not have to be about Michael specifically, it could be your favorite part of the worship service, or a special experience you’ve had while attending the church.
These will be collected into a book, formatted like a coffee table book, to mail to Michael once it’s complete.
Donate For A New Altar In Michael and Bill’s Memory
It is tradition for a church to give a gift to ministers as they depart for the next step in their ministry.
Rev. Michael Piazza has suggested that people who want to, can donate funds to purchase a new altar for the church. Bill Eure, made sure that the altar was ready every Sunday for worship. It was a labor of love for Bill.
Your gift will help us provide a new altar for the sanctuary, dedicated to the memory of Bill memory and also to all of the efforts of Michael efforts to renew our church. Your participation in this gift, no matter the amount, is appreciated. Your gift is tax-deductible.
Rev. Piazza is aware of our plans and is delighted that a beautiful new altar will be created to commemorate the work and efforts both he and Bill made on behalf of our church.
