Plan Your Visit
As a visitor, you may feel a little nervous, but we want you to know that you are welcome.
No matter your beliefs or background – or even if you’re not sure what you believe – you are welcome here!

What should I expect at Sunday worship?
Worship lasts about an hour. There is singing, prayers, a scripture passage, a message for children and one for adults. We offer Communion (the simple, shared, sacred meal of Christians) to everyone who wishes to participate, every Sunday. Everyone is welcome at our Communion table, regardless of membership, background or belief.
What time does worship begin?
11:00 am but we don’t discriminate against tardiness. You’re also free to arrive early, have a cup of coffee and get comfortable.
After worship, we have “snack time” and visit with one another.
What should I wear?
We believe that what’s in our hearts matters more to God than our clothing, so we welcome you to dress in a way that feels right for you, and know that you will be accepted just the way you are.
What if I have kids? Is there Sunday School or child care?
Children and families are welcome at Virginia-Highland Church! We offer child care for those 0-5 during worship. Staff members for children have received background checks, are First Aid/CPR-certified and have experience with young children. We also offer kids’ bags for kids to color and play with during worship.
We have Sunday School for children ages 0-10. For more information about it, you can contact Pastor of Faith Formation, Reverend Candace Rowell at candace@vhchurch.org
Do you offer support for those with disabilities?
We offer an accessible entrance ramp on the left side of our church. You may use an assisted listening device provided by the church upon entry.
Where do I park?
We offer plenty of free parking options:
- Street parking is usually available on Sunday mornings around the church
- You are also welcome to use the parking lot at Virginia-Highland Elementary School (across the street from our church) on Virginia Ave.
